Portrait or Personal Image - Peter K Burian

Peter K. Burian -- co-author of the National Geographic Photography Field Guide -- is a freelance photographer/writer based in Toronto, Canada. His outdoor, travel, nature and active lifestyle photographs are available as stock for editorial and advertising use. He markets his work direct to photo buyers via this Web site and is also represented by three stock agencies: Corbis, Alamy and The Stock Connection.

Burian is a regular contributor with several magazines: PHOTO LIFE, AUSTRALIAN PHOTOGRAPHY, MARKETNEWS and HERE'S HOW His articles or test reports appear in nearly every issue of these publications. (And, in the past, SHUTTERBUG for 14 years.)

Burian was the editor of Outdoor & Nature Photography magazine for three years and is the author of 15 Magic Lantern Guides (Lark Books) to camera systems, including all of the Sony and Pentax digital SLRs as well as the Canon G12. More recently, he has been co-authoring certain David Busch Guides: about the Nikon P7100 and the P7700.

His book on all digital aspects received numerous favorable reviews: Mastering Digital Photography and Imaging (Sybex) covered the technology, equipment and techniques, providing 270 pages of practical advice for photo enthusiasts. His other major book, Photoshop Elements 5 Workflow (Sybex) was co-authored with Tim Grey.

He also provides editing and technical editing services to publishers of books on photography and digital imaging.
