Peter K. Burian -- co-author of the National Geographic Photography Field Guide -- is a freelance photographer/writer based near Kitchener, ON, Canada. His outdoor, travel, nature and active lifestyle photographs are available as stock for editorial and advertising use. He markets his work direct to photo buyers via this Web site and is also represented by three stock agencies: Corbis, Alamy and The Stock Connection.

Burian is a regular contributor with several magazines: PHOTO LIFE and PHOTO SELECTION, AUSTRALIAN PHOTOGRAPHY and PHOTO NEWS. His articles or test reports appear in nearly every issue of these publications. (And, in the past, he was a Contributing Editor with SHUTTERBUG for 14 years, regular contributor with OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHER for 5 years, and Editor of Outdoor & Nature Photography magazine for three years.)

A regular contributor to the annual PHOTO LIFE BUYERS GUIDE, Burian is the Editor-in-Chief of the 2014 edition.

Burian is the author or co-author of 15 Magic Lantern Guides (Lark Books) to camera systems (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax). More recently, he has been co-authoring certain David Busch Guides: about the Nikon P7100 & P7700 as well as the SONY a99 and now, the NEX-6.

His book on all digital aspects received numerous favorable reviews: Mastering Digital Photography and Imaging (Sybex).

He also provides editing and technical editing services to publishers of books on photography and digital imaging.

Finally, Peter K. Burian is an instructor with teaching three highly rated on-line photography courses.
